Often, we think of health behaviors as the greatest contributors to health. In reality, it’s our communities’ physical, social, and economic conditions— including structural racism and other big systems—that either enhance or limit our access to health. These factors are often called the social determinants of health.
The Root Cause Solutions Exchange is a partnership between the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and Health Resources in Action. Every day across the Commonwealth, communities and individuals use the Exchange to connect through shared resources, experiences, and seed funds as available to change policies and practices for good and transform neighborhoods to bolster health and racial equity.
